The
NEC LT 245 is a bright, compact, DLP (digital light processing) data projector
used in select campus buildings. This unit may be found ceiling mounted in classrooms
or reserved on mobile carts for individual events.
The LT 245 has a very sharp projected image due to the new DLP technology, resulting
in superior quality video and computer projections.

Using
the Ceiling Mounted Projector
1. Turn on computer and monitor using the appropriate
power buttons.
2. Using the remote control, turn on the data projection
by pressing the power "On" button.
3. To project data and video played from the DVD-ROM
on the computer, press the "1" button located on the "computer"
section of the remote control.

4. To project video from the VCR or DVD player, press
the "video" button on the remote
5. To shut down the data projector using the remote
control, press the power "off" button once. A message will appear on
the screen asking if you wish to power off. Pressing the "off" button
again will turn off the projector. 
Connecting to a Laptop Computer
A. Plug the power cord into the data projector power
socket located marked "AC IN" on the back of the unit.
B. Plug one end of the 15 pin RGB cable into the "computer
1 IN" input; plug the other into your computer RGB out.

C. Turn on data projector using the "on/standby"
button found on the onboard control panel.
Turn on the portable computer.

D. Select the "Computer 1"input by pressing
the "source" button found on the onboard control panel. 
E. Aim the projector at the screen and line up the
image. Use the foot elevator to raise the projector. Note that the projector automatically
adjusts for keystone based on the level of the projector.
F. To zoom in or out, move the small lever located
next to the lens.
To focus the projected image, turn the lens.

If the source is set to the correct input, all of the connections have been made
properly, and the laptop computer image is not displayed by the projector, the
laptop monitor port may need to be turned on.
Refer to your laptop computer owner's manual for details.
Most laptop use a combination of key strokes to toggle among the three options
for the monitor port.
Option 1: displays on the laptop monitor only.
Option 2: displays on the laptop monitor and data projector.
Option 3: displays on the data projector only
Hold down the "FN" key and then press F4, wait about 10 seconds, the
image should appear on the projector, if not, repeat the keystrokes again.
