The computers in classrooms and meeting rooms use DVI cables to connect the computer to the monitors, while the HD 15 connector is used to send the signal to the data projectors.

Occasionally, when the computer doesn't recognize the second display, the data projector does not receive the computer signal and nothing can be displayed on the projector.
Troubleshooting Display Problems hd15 cable Setting the Display Properties 1. Make certain the data projector is receiving power and is turned on.

2. Set the data projector input or mode setting to "data" or "computer".

3. Check to see if the HD 15 cable is connected to the port in the back of the computer.

4. Check to see if the HD 15 cable is connected to the wall outlet leading up to the projector.

If the Above is Correct, Proceed Below

A. Right click on the desktop and choose properties from the menu that appears.

B. The "Display Properties" window appears. Click on the "Settings" tab...

C. The "Settings" tab includes the options pictured on the right. Click on the square with the number 1 to select display number 1, the main monitor. Then, click on the "Advanced" button on the bottom right of the window.

D. After clicking on the "Advanced" button, the window shown below will appear. Click on the "Displays" tab on the upper right side of the window.

E. The tab should look like the image below.
If the button on the top left portion of the "Monitor" button is red, click it once. It will then turn gray like the one on the "FPD" button. (If the button is not red, turn off the computer, follow steps 1-4, then turn on the computer and try again). Also, before going any further, make sure the little "bullseye" button below the monitor is clicked. Click "Apply" and then yes to any other pop-up windows asking if you wish to save the settings.

F. The image on the monitor and data projector will flicker for a while but you should see the computer image on both the monitor and projector.
